...a third one with my Boxster!!! I'm on vacation in the Adirondacks of NY and it has been above normal temps and just beautiful...the roads up here would be a blast. I seriously have got to get an older high mileage one and just leave it up here at my Mom's house. For those two weeks a year I spend here I would be in heaven. The leaves are peaking and the hiking is great.

Great views. Leaving a high-mileage "insert car brand here" 50 weeks per year sitting would be a bad idea. A better idea would be.......... drive it out there.

I couldn't agree more. I had the good fortune to grow up there. The roads around Lake Placid, Saranac Lake and Tupper are the best. And, the traffic is usually not a problem. Just watch out for wet leaves on shaded curves.

How does the boxster handle the heaves? I was up there earlier this year in a big truck and it almost beat the crap out of me.

Steve - I have family that is here all the time so likely would only sit from Nov to March. Kind of like our fellow forum members in Chicago...hibernate for 6 months a year.

I haven't seen any heaves yet but I'm sure if I go looking I'll find them, winters are pretty tough on the roads.

There is a 2000 'S' for sale in Elizabethtown with 47k miles. Talked to the sales guy and he doesn't want to have it sitting out there all winter. He want's $19.5 for it...I'm like what? It is in nice shape though, no chips and seats are not worn at all. Was only driven for a few months each summer.
