Natural upholstery cleaner
 

What should one use to clean this type of leather. I am looking for something I can buy locally and not at the far away dealer?

I know it's not local but the best stuff I have ever used is Leatherique. You order the 2 step cleaner from www.leatherique.com. Worth every penny.

I use mild detergent to clean the leather. Dry it with a cotton towel. Apply Surflex leather conditioner. See leather dye in the Q+A section for address. John Paterek - PCA WebSite - 7/31/2002

Saddle Soap...cleans and moisturizes leather and is not expensive. :cheers:

I agree with this. I use a diluted solution of Lexol Leather Cleaner (orange bottle) and a quality leather cleaning brush. The leather care products from ColorPlus.com (Surflex) are excellent. The owner, JoAnn, is very smart regarding Porsche leathers. She has also donated "door prizes" to this Forum for our Tail Of The Dragon runs in the early days (just ask Randall, Sammy and NickCats).

I also really like Zaino's Z10- Leather In A Bottle.

Lexol is your best bet if you are looking for a product available off-the-shelf at most parts stores. My local ace hardware even carries it.

I have a garage full of every leather product you can buy either OTC (over the counter) or special order. The best leather product (IMHO) is 1Z leather. It's the only product that I've used that gets down really really deep and nearly all the other OTC cleaners leaves a film I don't care for. A clean matte finsih.

Use woolite (2 parts water) on the carpet and a mild detergent on the floor mats using a soft carpet brush-- I usually do this in the bathtub where they can hand dry if it not sunny out.

I am still concerned. To be a bit more specific, I have the natural brown and I know to be careful. Some products will significantly darken this color. Does anyone suggest a product which will not darken the natural brown?

Mmmmm - don't you find the carpet die comes out and stains the skin on your inner thighs and bum .... :D
The carpet brush sounds iffy, but we won't go there :p
