Hey, can I get a weather extension? I can get the photo for the next challenge I put out but the weather is terrible for the next 2 days.

Overdrive 11-16-2011 10:04 AM

Sorry, no can do as of yesterday evening, Jim. Please post up your next challenge for folks to meet.

EDIT: Correction, time limit for your pic is 3 hours from now.

Jim Miller 11-17-2011 04:33 AM

Wow you guys are tough.

DenverSteve 11-17-2011 05:26 AM

Indoor or outdoor? We have indoor but no outdoor arenas. If indoor (building is multiple ice rinks for rec. hockey) I can do.

Overdrive 11-17-2011 05:44 AM

Jim, you need to change your challenge. This has already been done by Spinnaker on post #228. Please be sure to check through the other challenges (lengthy as it has become), before posting up yours.

Perhaps I'll make an edit to the first post of this thread and compile all the challenges met so far for a quicker reference.

Jim Miller 11-17-2011 07:13 AM

Next Challenge: Boxster and an outdoor Hockey Rink (doesn't have to be Ice Hockey)

Overdrive 11-17-2011 07:17 AM

Ok, sorry to be a pain (but you're not quite going by the rules posted ;) )

please go back to your previous post and edit out the challenge portion so that people are not confused as to which is the current challenge. Thanks, Jim! And I hope you've got your own pic ready just in case. ;)

Next: Boxster and a golf course green.

Overdrive 11-20-2011 08:34 AM

Holy crap, you caught a 1999 Boxster in the background of your picture! Nice! :p

Ok, so who's gonna be that guy to snap a picture of himself going golfing this weekend? Come on, I know you're out there...

Boxster and a golf course green

I don't play golf, but I was driving by the Bellevue Golf Course on my way to an social get together, so I stopped and grabbed a quick shot. You can't see the green all that well from the parking lot, but the sand trap is clearly visible.

Since Thanksgiving is coming up,
Next - Boxster with a turkey (If it is still in the wrapper and frozen, that's OK, but you better start thawing it out soon.)

Jim Miller 11-23-2011 04:29 AM

Anyone else having picture uploading problems?

Spinnaker 11-23-2011 03:58 PM

I'll give it a test.

Yep, I get an "upload of file failed" message when I tried.
Well Overdrive, does this make it the official end of the picture challenge?

Jbocio 11-23-2011 04:03 PM

Have been getting that error for the past couple of days. Thought it was my web browser but I have tried chrome, safari, and firefox all to no prevail.
You are not alone!

Overdrive 11-25-2011 08:42 AM

I guess we can conclude here, and I won't knock a point off of the last score due to technical difficulties. But keep trying if you actually did get a picture with your turkey and load it up! I wanna see this. Put it up on imageshack if you have to, lol.

Since the winter is coming and at least some of us will be putting our cars away, in some cases well out of reach, I think we'll go ahead and conclude the thread as of Thanksgiving. I'll scour through all 16 pages of this (good LORDY, never expected that many) and make sure I've got the points tabulated correctly.

Do be on the lookout for a revival of the picture thread soon, in 2.0 flavor. I think we'll get started back up again with it some time after New Years so we don't have any holiday interferences...and so you guys can start coming up with some bigger, badder, and better challenges for each other. Expect some tweaks and lessons learned from the experience here, which overall was better than I expected and fun to see the level of participation it gained.

I realize those of us in the more inclimate part of the country may be at a bit of a disadvantage come January, depending on the challenge. But remember, so long as it's your Boxster meeting the challenge, there are ways of getting the points if the challenge allows for loopholes, as we've seen.

As stated before, if you have any suggestions, recommendations, criticisms, constructive or otherwise, etc., please PM me. No idea will go unconsidered.

I will post on here again to announce the overall points leader before having the thread closed.

Thank you all for your participation and for being good sports.

This was a lot of fun to participate in and follow! Thanks to everyone.

Brownie points, healthservices. I hope you didn't get any grease on the car. :P

Just wanted to get my turkey in since there were issues downloading at the time.

Overdrive 12-03-2011 03:50 PM

Wow, Jim. I'm impressed. Um...where exactly are those tie downs hooked/tied?
