Water pump with metal blades

I am doing my maintenance schedule for my 2002 base tip. I bought a water pump with metal impeller from ebay for $ 105.00. The seller said it is made from Germany. Is it OK to use this instead of the original plastic impeller? Thank you.

I personally would not put anything other than an OEM water pump in my car.
That eBay pump is probably made in China.
You get what you pay for.
Happy Boxstering,

No..........

The reason they are telling you this is twofold:

1. The main mode of failure of a water pump is bearing wear out. Cheaper bearings=more likely failure.
2. When the bearing does fail and the impeller blades contect the engine housing, on a plastic pump, only the pump is damaged. Metal blades will damage the actual engine block. $$$

Metal blades are tougher than the crankcase.. So when you lose the bearing the block is toast and can't be repaired...
