What do you think of these two cars?

There are two Boxsters for sale on the classified section of this forum.

They can be seen here

meticulous maintained
car looks and drives like it just rolled out the showroom

interior
mint all black leather
no rips or signs of wear
everything works perfect

suspension
all stock
sport touring package
handles like a dream after all it is a Porsche

powerplant
Original motor m96 suffered from ims bearing failure shortly after i bought the car resulting in catastrophic engine failure, if you dont know about this problem you should educate yourself before spending your money on a Porsche.
Currently my car is at Independent Porsche getting a 0 mile m96 2.5 swap Sachs clutch kit, LN Engineering ims bearing upgrade retrofit kit
making this Boxster bullet proof and ready for the road and more importantly you don't have to spend additional money after buying the car.
Addition to this ims failure is no longer an issue, that should give you piece of mind as a Porsche enthusiast.
$14000

1999 3.4L Conversion Boxster for sale

3.4L conversion using 3.4L sourced from donor Carrera 4S.
exhaust sytem taken from Cayman S (3.2L)
Porsche sport clutch
PSS9 Stage 3 suspension
987 wheels
rear window cracked left and right. Never really had the top up, so I didn't mind.
Silver exterior/Black interior
Daily driver
76K miles
Serviced and maintained by Vision Motorsports

Family's growing, have to sell. Need to haul more than one kid at a time. Have very much enjoyed having the lightest and most powerful Boxster in my area.

Asking $15,000, will negotiate on repairing/replacing the top.

------------------------------------------------------------

What is your opinion of these cars? Pros/Cons of each, and the price?

I’m looking for a weekend fun car, but no tracking it.

Garage
I recommend you test drive and inspect both... The 2.5 looks like a clean car (my favorite of the two) but the 3.4 would be a blast to drive.

The 2.5L is overpriced. Biggest concern is that the owner seems to be avoiding clearly stating where the "0 mile" replacement engine came from.

The 3.4L is also overpriced although it depends how much a 3.4 engine is worth to you. How many miles on the 3.4 engine? Who did the conversion? Any DME/CEL issues? With all of the performance mod's (engine, suspension, wheels, clutch), you can be sure that this car was driven hard.

The economy has tanked, Porsche made tons of Boxsters, and there a LOT of them for sale. Its a big time buyers market. Shop around extensively, there is no reason to overpay.
