cooling system ?

I have been on vacation for the past week so i have been driving my 03 S a lot . the temp gauge seems to stay just to the right of the 180 mark in normal driving but in stop and go traffic it can jump to the middle of the 180 and the next mark . I checked my fluid level it looks good is this normal ?

That seems ....

... about right for the hot summer days.
When you're not moving or in slow city traffic, the only air circulating through the radiators is forced by the fans.
When you're moving air flows much better and therefore maintains lower temps.
Happy Boxstering,
Pedro

I'm a little cautious at times too as the needle would go to the middle of the "0" in the 180 number. I've been hearing that it's normal, especially in stop and go traffic. Also, when was the last time you cleaned your front radiators?

I think you are fine if its in the middle of the 180 mark.

Mine is in the middle / outer edge of the "0" in 180 ... It's in the middle of it while driving, and when in traffic it goes out to the outer edge of the 0... I have a LN ims upgrade (heard people run hotter after for some reason), and the engine has like 17k on it.

Anyone know if that is okay/normal?

for some reason i never noticed how much the temp gauge "dances" around . up , down a little in between. i wonder if it is just the summer heat because i'm fairly sure that in cooler months the temps do not move around , more consistent.
the car has 52K and i have not cleaned the radiators. some day i will.
