Do all 986's have traction control?

I was just wondering if my 99 986 has traction control. I don't have any wheelspin even if I pop the clutch a little but I have no button on the dash to turn off any TCS. Any thoughts?

You also have a motor that makes a peak of 181 ft#s at 4500 RPM and 255 treadwidth rear tires.

Wrong car for a burnout contest.

Nope. I purposely looked for a non-PSM car to make my "Monster Boxster" 3.8 swapped car.

Unless you have the button to the left of the radio stack, you don't have traction/ stability control.

Traction Control optional until 2001 when PSM option replaced it. Even if you turn off PSM as soon as you step on the brake it reactivates PSM. Thats why I bought my S without PSM or TC.

you still should be able to do a brake stand or burnout, just be carefull sometimes you have enough traction with the rear tires to push the car forward even with the fronts locked.

YES, all 986's have traction control. The switch is controlled by the nut behind the steering wheel. :)

With only 200hp (on a good day) and wide rear tires, the secret is that you have to do it like you mean it - a half-arsed try won't even get a chirp.

Wait... people WANT wheelspin?
