Rear Window Fix vs. Replacement
I have a small crack in the plastic rear window by the stitching. I was thinking of replacing the window itself and having a new one stitched in...
In doing some research, it looks like I can get an new acoustic A5 top with a glass window and defroster for around $550 (plus install)... I guess the question is, why WOULDN'T I just replace the whole top and get a glass window for a few hundred dollars more?? Thoughts? Thanks! Rick |
The only downside I've heard of the glass tops for the pre 03s is the fact they can limit engine access.

$$$. If you have a replacement done you can get insurance to pay for it. I went
that route. |
In SoCal you can have a replacement window installed in your OEM top for $385 and an aftermarket top with glass window installed for about $1200. It is easier to access you air filter and MAF with the original top and the original always seems to fit perfectly. The glass window looks better. Pick your poison.
