stone chips

Picked up a new 05 Boxster last week. Anybody have any experience with
the clear bras (X-Pel) that they put on the front and sides to prevent stone
chips etc. The dealer had put it as an option but I declined. I might put it
on later. How invisible is it? What about washing the car?

Mitch is the owner and I know he travels up to Toronto and Berry Ontario often (his wife is from there).
He might be able to set you up with an install or atleast good tips.

I've got some pictures up of a clear bra installation on my car. Do a search for "clear bra" and you should find them.

I don't have a boxter (yet) I am here to learn, but I do have X-pel clear bra on my 2005 CTSV. It is great. I have had it on for about 9 months. My car is platinum and from about 2 feet back it is amost invisable. I had the front air dam, hood, mirrors and lights covered. Local installer did it.

You can see some pix of my car showing the clear protectant film on a dark color on posts 10 & 11 in this thread. This is probably the most extreme situation because any wax/polish residue on the edge will show as a light colored line against the dark color. I've been very happy with the film as it has taken some hits that would certainly have been paint damage otherwise.
