cool! I love the Cayman R, between that and the gt3 RS 4.0 idk which I would choose. But still, if it takes a gt3 to beat a cayman R in handling that says alot for it.

If only Porsche put the money into the cayman like they do with the 911!

They Cayman R pulled 1.11 G's in one of their tests with STREET TIRES.

It put up remarkably close numbers when compared to much more expensive car with racing (cup) tires... Big difference. I would have liked to see the test with them wearing comparable rubber.

waiting

Waiting for Porsche to drop
3.8 in Boxster Spyder or Cayman
hopefully I don't have to wait to long
I KNOW sales would increase
for boxsters & caymans.
Why they haven't done it is beyond comprehension

Both cars should have been on pilot cup tires
Just to c what could have been the results
there is a video on youtube with a 2012 corvette
doing 1.3 G's on the RING...impressive
& yes ....on pilot cup tires

my 2 cents
Chris

My guess is it is all the tires... if it had 3xx something rear tires like the gt3 it would have hung in longer.

Did you notice when the gt3 lost it, the back came all the way around, but the Cayman didn't? Classic trail throttle oversteer which is the bane of rear engine cars.
