Radio Problems

Just purchased a 1999 Boxster with 16000 miles for $13000. Perfect condition. Only one problem. Only the top mounted dash speakers work. When I fad the speakers to the back, silence. Are the rear speakers in the doors or behind the seats unseen? Does the amp under the hood adjacent to the spare power all speaker? Advise? I'm really green... Any help appreciated...

Hi,

The door speakers are actually the woofers for the dashboard speakers so only base will come out of them.

Rear speakers (if you have them) would be located behind the headrests in the storage compartment area. If there mot there then no rear speakers.

go to ebay and search boxster rear speakers and they will pop up. worth every cent.

Garage
+1 to what smagy said

Only way around it is to rear shelf/deck speakers
this will be ur rear speakers when u hook up to stock deck
there r DIY on how to do this...just do a search

Or replace stock deck...add aftermarket amp...new speakers
add rear shelf/deck speakers ....depends what ur budget it
& subwoofer too.

Just a heads up...stock speakers r paper cone....not impressive @ all
cheers
Chris

Thanks... But,,,,

So the speakers in the doors are the rears when faded to the rear. Are they powered by the amp in the front "trunk" near the spare?
