Central Locking system problem... Yet another thread!!!!

I have a Boxster 2000 and very recently ALL Central locking has stopped working. Therefore I can lock and unlock the driver side door with the key in the lock (old school way), BUT CANNOT LOCK THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR because there is no lock in the door. Ooopppss!!!!
Both the remote and the button on the dash no longer work. The Remote does flash with the red LED, but the dash button does not lite up nor work. The bizarre thing this happened when I tried to test whether I could open the door once the top was up, but the windows down, but just using the inside handle.

Please help, I am quite concerned of leaving my passenger side door unlocked.
