Looking at an '04S
After a 6 month hiatus, I am looking to get back into a Porsche, and it seems that a Boxster is going to be just the ticket for me. I'll mainly be using it for weekend driving- AX, maybe the track at some point. No commuting.
I recently looked at this car: http://bit.ly/iNt3I4 It's nicely optioned with: XLA 986 and 987 (Boxster) tailpipe XSC Porsche crest in headrest X47 Carbon handbrake X58 Carbon gear lever X70 Door sills in stainless-steel with model insignia 288 Headlight washers 375 Sports seat, backrest shell left 376 Sports seat, backrest shell right 415 18in Turbo Look wheels 424 CD shelf, centre console 446 Concave wheel caps with traditional coloured Porsche crest 454 Cruise control 551 Cabriolet wind deflector 601 Litronic headlights 659 Computer 680 Bose sound package from MY 2002 983 Leather seat covers, front and rear Looks like an aerokit as well. Based on the carfax it appears to be local, and to have had most of the services done at Stevens Creek Porsche, so I'll probably call them and ask them to check the VIN to see what kind of history they have. There were a few niggles I encountered on my test drive: - really had to press the clutch in to get it to start - slight rattle sound from exhaust (only at idle) - short shift kit? - driver side seat height adjuster didn't work - non-retracting driver side seatbelt Given the year and mileage, does the price ($21.5k) seem reasonable? Naturally, I would try to get them to come down a bit... I would definitely have a PPI done before parting with any $. Thoughts? Thanks. |
