It looks to be in the same condition as a couple that I have changed on 97-99 cars. I agree that age does indeed affect the belt.

I find it hard to believe it could be that bad from age. Could hard driving habits have anything to do with it?

That belt really looks bad..... I just installed your TT (thanks again for sending it) and my belt from '04 looks absolutely ok, like brandnew, has a Porsche part#. Is/was yours OEM?

Your driving habits won't make a difference.

Holy cracked belt!! I changed mine at 54k miles (2000 'S') and it was like new...almost didn't bother putting the new belt on because it was so tight I was worried it would cause water pump issues. That's amazing. Maybe certain years used different OE providers.
