Oil drip, what does it mean?
 

I'm fairly certain some of you have the answer to this issue, I found a couple of oil spots on the garage floor and they seem to be dripping from the shift mechanism.

Thanks for your input on what the problem might be.

Im going to go out on a limb here and say its an oil leak.......

I kid, I kid- but seriously- Im not sure WHAT it would be coming from, RMS seems to be a common one.

I would have a look and see if is coming from the engine transmission interface. This could mean an RMS or ims problem; the RMS being right above the ims.

Oil coming from this area should be investigated as soon as you can and hope that it is an RMS problem and not the other.

Is your car S model with 6 speed manual?
If yes, it might be the infamous shift linkage leak.

I cleaned up the area this morning, let's see what happens.

Then 5 days later the AOS goes at the track.

Sorry to hear that. But if the leak is not that bad, just keep on eye on the trans oil level and fix it later when you need to have clutch, RMS, IMS work (trans need to be removed).

I replaced my AOS even when it still worked early this year. Next is water pump :mad:

Picking it up today. I had the shift shaft done too.
IMS, RMS, clutch, water pump, motor mount all done within the past 3k miles.

It should last forever now, right? LOL

I thought I was done after new battery, IMS, RMS, clutch... and.... low and behold ... my rear plastic window cracked and headlamp sprayer nozzle broke :mad:

NO, I did not curse you but we both are in boxster curse.
Luckily our car drives so well so I can justify to put up with these repairs...
