Seat Replacement?

I've got a '00 Boxster S and the seats were not taken care of. In the last year they have ripped and are in bad shape. Would anyone have any input on the best way to approach this? Should I have them reupholstered, buy new, or try to find used on Ebay? I've been searching online, but was hoping to get some info from someone who might have tackled this already.

Thanks

I had the same issue. You will find that the leather on the seats is rather low quality and you will run into the same issues soon after you buy used seats.

I had the seats re covered in the same style but with a much higher quality of leather for 1/2 the price of used seats and they feel and wear much better.

Corpus Christi texas. They build it up totally custom. I got to pick out the leather, different grains and shades are amazing.

2 years ago...using my original seats....had to replace a bolster pad and a broken tray....total recover using a dark black with silver thread....supple thick leather on the seat and thicker durable leather for bolsters...standard thickness for back...with porsche crest in headrest. 600 for both. I dropped off and picked up.

Also take note that the standard "leather" seats in our cars where only real leather on the seat pad, everything else was pleather. There was an option for " supple full leather" but i remember that this option was 7K.

So if you buy off of ebay, make note of the leather coverage.

I picked up a pair of full powered, 12way 9x7 seats with no wear at LA dismantlers for $1000. For me, a true, quality re-upholstery job was going to cost me quite a bit more.

Regards, PK

There are a number of companies that make leather replacement covers for the Boxster seats. Do a Google search for Boxster seat upholstery. Gahh makes a replacement seat set, but it is pricey.

I had my seats reupholstered. They look better than new and it was much cheaper than used seats (that will still look used even if in good condition).
