I have subscribed to this - I have the same problem. Drivers works both up and down, passenger only works going down..... Interesting!

My car ('99 LHD) works on both windows, up and down. The guy I bought the car from is a dealership Porsche mechanic, and he gave me a tip on resetting the automatic windows:

He said if they were not working or only going partway up, all you had to do was put the window up all the way, release the window up button, then press the window up button one more time. Conversely, put the window all the way down, release the window down button, then press the window down button one more time.

I have no idea if this will solve your issue, but it only takes a few seconds to try!

The window regulator may have a bind in it causing the problem.

I know that when I disconnect the battery for some time, I have to "reset" the windows to work automatically up and down again.

If you just put it down, then up then down again it should fine the parameters and reset itself.
