'01 s for $14,700? opinion re. auctions

is a price of $14,700 for an '01 s with 43,000 miles ,no current issues or service needs, big maintenance at 41,000 miles a reasonable asking price by a private seller?

in '09 the car was purchased at eastern region auto auction. what is your opinion re. cars obtained at auction? is that necessarily a bad indicator?

and where you are, the transmission, the options, the car's condition, documentation, season of the year, tire brand/model/condition, top condition and rear window type etc all affect the price.

Having said that, that is a fair price for an '01S. Can you get your hands on the 41k service docs to see what happened there. I'd also urge the PPI as about $250 well spent.

Yes that could be a great price, get the inspection. I didn't on mine because I received detailed documented records, though after spending much time on the forums learning and doing my own maintenance I would encourage others to get the PPI. Hope it works out for you! Let us know how it goes. First Porsche?
