Is there a way to..

Hi guys. I have a 2000S that I bought with 60K miles on it. Is there a way to tell if the engine has had the IMS upgrade done without dropping the tranny?

Any info would be appreciated.

Todd.

if it was done by jake, there would be a sticker on the driver's door jam, other than that - i do not believe so. you might try contacting ln engineering. i don't know if they keep any records by VIN or owner's name. how long have you owned it?

No. If the seller didn't mention a IMS upgrade & show a receipt to calaborate the claim I would bet it has not been upgraded.

I spoke the Charles Navarro when I bought my IMS retrofit. He said that at the time (about 2 months ago) that about 1000 had been installed, so it would be VERY unlikely that your car has had one. If it had been replaced with a Porsche IMS, consider it still 100% at risk.
