Brake Wear Light (Need Help!)

Brake wear light came on recently after I replaced new pads a few months back. Some of the sensors were worn but I did not replaced them. Anyway, I only disconnected all of the sensors that run from the pads and also disconnected the battery. The light is still on. Did I miss something? I noticed that there are 2 wires that run into the connector, one to the pads and the other appears connect into the axle. Can someone help with getting rid of this light without having to get new sensors? Please...

the sensor on the axle is your speed sensor - not the problem.

the brake wear sensor is a simple circuit - a loop of wire. when the pads wear down to the sensor, the exposed wire gets worn-through and opens the circuit triggering the brake wear light. once the light comes on you can't reuse the sensor. if you unplug the sensor completely the computer sees an open circuit and puts the brake wear light on. your solution: new sensor or cut your sensor near the plug and twist together the two wires you find there. comupter will see a continuous circuit and turn off the light.

Radium King,

You mean to cut the end of the wire leading to the sensor wire or cut the end of the sensor wire where the plug is and solder it together. Do you have a photo of DYI?

I would cut close to the (worn) sensor and twist them together there
