nice close up video of the 2013 Boxster

Still hate the doors. Front end is very nice. Xbox in the dash is clever.

Garage
The top action seems much better without the clam shell doing its little dance while the top moves. Still, I'm more interested in what changes are coming for the Cayman.

Did I hear the classic start up rattle when he cranked the motor around 1:30?

I like my clamshell, reminds me of that skirt scene in The Woman In Red.

Those huge side intakes are going to scoop up a lot of junk over time.

Although it would be cost ineffective, at this point I wish I could have my old 986 Boxster back with a PDK in it.

Well I'm not embarrassed to say it is growing on me. I could see owning one in the future.

I'm curious to see if they fixed PDK on the new cars. Everyone who tracks/autox these cars complain about a signficant engagement lag. I was first suspicious when I saw the manual Boxster Spyder was faster from lap one than a PDK Cayman in one real world test. The journalists say its been addressed but I don't really trust what they say about new Porsches.

I don't think we're going to have much of choice are we. When the prices start falling hard, and they will like all the water-cooled Porsches, you're going to be hard-pressed to pass up a car with cutting-edge engineering simply because they put goofy doors and an SUV interior in it.

p.s.
Anyone else notice how un-Boxster like the rear end looks? The more I look it at the more I think Panamera. It's almost as if they simply made a mini-Panamera convertible when looking at it from the back. That signautre front and rear symmetry of the Boxster hips is completely gone.
