Cool Boxster Grandfather- 550 Spyder
New poster. We are on our second Boxster S.

The car pictured was at the 2008 Colorado Grand. They show the cars after the thousand mile rally without cleanup. A concours non-de-elegance.

This is the model the Boxster was patterned after. Times have changed. 110 bhp vs 310 bhp for my Boxster S today.

IMVHO the Porsche 550 Spyder is one of the most beautiful cars ever made. An icon and a true classic. The Boxster S is indeed a worthy ancestor.

Very cool post. I have lived in CO since '87 and did'nt know of this event. Any more info?

Every year the second or third week in September. Always starts and ends in Vail. The cars are selected for authenticity and have to 60's or older. Some of the cars are very rare indeed. Only one model is allowed at a time.

There are always some choice Bugatti's, Ferrari's, Alfa's, Mercedes, etc.

This event has been going on for years. I have managed to make it the last three years and take some pictures.
