So I had the p0445 code...

I can't hear any hissing by the fuel cap... But when the car is running and I step on the gas it wants to die... And it seems to be really running rich... Lot of smoke at startup... More than what is considered normal.
So now I'm wondering what in that code 0445 could make the car run like this? Doesn't seem related... An evap pressure code and then the way the car is running?
Do you guys still think I should try and look under the right side wheel liner and take a look?

Might I add that I cleared the code a couple of days ago and since it's been running this way it's still has not thrown another code.

I've had coil pack failures on my Audi and vw and this kind of feels the same except I have no codes for misfires, just the evap 0445 code.

Garage
From Loren at Renntech:
P0445 EVAP Canister Purge Valve – Short to B+/Short to Ground
Short circuit to B+
Short circuit to ground
– Wiring harness
– DME control module

P0446 EVAP Canister Shutoff Valve (Function) – Below Limit
– Purge air line blocked
– Flow resistance of EVAP canister too high

Sounds more like a wire harness/electrical issue for P0445.

Okay, I'm an idiot... I believe the code was 0455 and not 0445... An I cleared it a couple of days ago... Now I need to look at both caused&)(/&;@
