Rear tail lights out

The passenger side rear tail lights in my 2001 S are out (all of them, including brake lights). Everything works fine on the drivers side (making me think it is not a fuse?). I figure this must be a short somewhere (any other ideas?), but have absolutely no idea where to start in terms of tracking this down/what to check with a multimeter/possible culprits.

All advice appreciated.

It sounds as if the connection to the tail light may be disconnected (an open circuit). Remove the fiberboard covering in the trunk to access the light and reseat the connector. I had a problem with the stop light in the passenger side and I traced it to a loose connection at the bulb. Odd that the entire fixture won't light...

connector was in (plus i swapped the assembly with the other side ... the assembly was fine).

Its solved ... turned out to be fuse a3 which is listed as 'side marker' but obviously is responsible for rear lights as well.
