CDR 220 question
On my 2000 Boxster S radio, there is a TP button. What does this do? I notice now either a T or TP on the display with a CD playing and I've also noticed strange behavior as well (CD player randomly stops while driving even with different clean discs) and I'm not sure if they are related.

IIRC, the TP was mute or changes bands (AM and FM) and functions (CD or AUX).

Isnt TP a kind of traffic/news function? That it switches over to news/traffic reports when listening to a CD or another radio channel?
|
This feature allows a traffic broadcast to interupt Tape or CD play with immediate traffic information.
From the CDR-220 owners manual: The Traffic Program system offers the advantage that current traffic news can be seen and heard despite the fact that Tape or CD are selected. For this purpose, it is essential that a traffic program transmitter is selected in the FM waveband and that the Traffic Program is activated. If the Traffic Program transmtter is selected, the abbr. "T" appears. Press the TP button and a station search will begin to locate the next station broadcasting the TP identifier.
