IMS upgrade - Done

Finally got the LN engineering IMS upgrade done. The shop (Gilson Motorsports in Troy MI) did a great job on it. He even posted the pictures when he worked on my car at his facebook page. If you are interested in seeing how it is done, you can see them at:
http://www.facebook.com/#!/album.php?aid=34603&id=161891483856716

Total cost for the job IMS, RMS and clutch work is around $2K (parts and labor).

Hopefully this can help anyone here who is interested in getting IMS done to their car.

No, we reused the flywheel (I did not wait until my clutch fail). Just had oil leak and I was worried about the IMS leak (turned out to be RMS).

Wow that's really good price.. if only you were 2300 miles closer..
Here in Seattle it takes 3.5K to do the same.

Maybe I should take a scenic drive to Troy,MI ?

You can ship the car to MI and drive it back in the summer
We just shipped my sister in laws car from MI to CO and it only cost $500.
You still save $1K for beer

For those of us who don't want to do Facebook, has the shop posted the photos anywhere else?

Regards, Maurice.

People need to know that this is not an expensive job. I paid $1,800 including the clutch, new flywheel and replacing the RMS seal with the Cayenne unit. Shop labor was $85 an hour. I guess it works out to 2 hours to drop the trans, 2 hours to extrat the old (piece of CAKE on my car using the LN special extraction tool) and another 2 hours to put it back together. Just don't change the oil before having this done since they'll need change the oil after the old bearing is taken out.
I also had the rear axle boots (both were torn) replaced while everything was dismantled, which is a two hour job by the 'book rate'.
