Boxster Tie Rod
Hi, I did a search and couldnt really find any DIY info on replacing the Tie rod on the Boxster.
I think I am going to just replace the outer tie rods, car only has 60k Anyone ever done it? How hard is it? 1-10 scale any special tools needed? Thanks |
Not hard at all, in fact super easy.

Yeah, I actually just watched some Youtube vids and it looks super easy.
Is a alignment always required? |
The tie rods control your toe end...keeps the wheels going straight...if it pulls left or right your toe is out. If the old ends on your car are not really worn, you can adjust the new ones to match the old ones. But, since this is a Porsche you need to have a them reset to specs.

Not a hard job

Negative toe, or toe out, is the front of the wheel pointing away from the centreline of the vehicle conversely:Positive toe, or toe in, is the front of the wheel pointing in towards the centreline of the vehicle. hth :D |
