US lights on euro 986
Would installing all around (OK side blinkers shouldn't be an issue) US lights on a european 986 be a straight swap or is something more involved? Are there any differences in bulb positions?

The headlights are different between right and left hand drive cars. As long as you are putting the US lights on a left hand drive car you should be fine.

It's a left hand drive car, but in Mike Focke's deambering how-to there was a mention about converting the fog lights to running lights and for a reason i cannot remember I got the impression it might have sthng to do with euro-us differences. Also I was under the impression there is a difference in wattage somewhere.
Anyway, then it's a straight hook-up for both front and rear lights: take old one off the connector, hook up the new one. Same if you buy only lenses (without the bulb carrier)? |
I don't think you can buy just the lenses - the headlights are sold as complete assemblies

euro lights
if you are fortunate enough to have euro lights with the upsweep to right , i sure wouldn't install american market lights. the euro put way more usable light onto the road and right side where the road signs are.
the only reason i could see doing what you are suggesting is to pass a road safety inspection. the deamber is a a different issue. i would love a set of euro HID for my 987, but going retrofit will probably be easier. |
