Replacing Transmission Mount Torque Value?
I'm replacing the clutch and want to replace the transmission mounts while I'm at it, but I can't find any instructions on this in the Bentley manual, AllData or the forums.
In the manual it says it will destroy the old mounts if I remove the bolt that holds them on (no problem since I want to put new ones in), but does anyone know what the new ones need to be torqued to so I don't damage them? Thanks! |
If you are referring to the two M8 nuts alongside the larger hydraulic mount, they are torqued to 33 Nm or 24 Ft. Lb. The mount to transmission varies with the model, base uses M10 torqued to 65 Nm or 48 Ft. Lb.; the S uses M12 torqued to 85 Nm. or 63 Ft. Lb. I have not data for the torx nut below the hydraulic mount as that only comes assembled to the transmission mount bracket and is not sold separately to my knowledge.

I will have to look at it again, but I think it is the torx nut that I need the torque for. The mounts do not come in the bracket.

The OEM service manual states that the hydraulic mount bolt (the torx nut fastener) should not be undone as it will "permanently damage the mount".....
