CD 6disc changer/player help!

I went to put in a new assortment of CDs and as I pop the trunk, slide the cover off the unit and press the button, I get nothing.

What gives? Anybody had it happen to them or is it simply dead?

A friend recently had problems similar to yours. In his case, one of the CDs was jammed in the cassette / holder preventing it from ejecting fully (it would come up about one inch and stop). He managed to release the CD with a small screwdriver and all was well. I might mention that this was a replacement CD player he was fooling with since the one that came with the car will not release the cassette at all. I hope your issue is as easily delt with.

Well I just tried playing a CD, as I know there are some in there, and nothing would play or load. so I will have to take it apart and see whats up when I get back home

What are these CD things you refer to?

I thought they went out around the same time as 8-tracks.

:D

They’re used almost exclusively in sunny climates...they're vinyl and rotate at 78rpm. They'll take your hand off if you're not careful. A small price to pay for the quality sound they produce.

Multi-CD Player Also Dead

Just bought my 1998 Boxster. Mechanic pulled the CD Changer and the contacts are rusted...probably some moisture gets into the front trunk and corrodes?

Let me know if any of you have any fixes or have run into the same issue.

(Not a case of a beat-up Boxster as this one was a garaged unit and well-kept.)

I've been super busy and haven't had time to check it out. will probably be pulling it apart here soon
