daytona 24 hrs???

so the lizard team led off well, but didn't finish well, Brumos and Hurley weren't even listed as running when they can back live on TV yesterday afternoon.? retired from what cause?

pretty scant pickins for porsche i guess having to get bailed out by vw hasn't helped them focus on winning like they used to...

What about TRG's 67 ...

... isn't that a GT3 also a Porsche?
The fact that they came from dead last to 1st in GT to me says a great deal of the Car, the Team and the Drivers.
Congratulations to Kevin Buckler and all his team.
Happy Boxstering,
Pedro

I agree, the TRG boys had a great day, with the Marqius Jet GT3 second! Too bad about the Lizard car, but that's what happens when the team owner has more money than ability. First he brake checks Scott Tucker on the restart and then panics when a couple cars spin in front of him, causing a loss of 18 or 19 laps... impossible to recover.

At least one of the Action Express cars made the podium.

Well said Jmatta. You assemble a world class list of drivers and than screw it up by trying to do a stint. Did you hear his explanation, great comedy. Patrick and Jorg must be really disapointed, work so hard only to have Seth screw it up. They had one of the fastest cars. Seth should limit himself to one of his GT cars and not the lead GT car at that. Oh well that's why they call it racin.

Just think how frustrated Darren Law must be throughout the season co-driving with Neiman...he's more of a driving coach, but perhaps he doesn't mind the payment and seat. Seth was definitely over his head...sometimes you just need to stand back and let the guys take care of business.

Jorg would have been a good interview and Pat Long is just a real gentleman. We had him show up at a Road America test 'n tune to show some of the Nascar clowns the way around the track...he couldn't have been a nicer guy to hang with.

Maybe next year's effort will be two cars? One to win and one to keep the owner happy.

bad link

all i got was sport system ad page, no racing news.

from the tsn page after the end of the race i didn't see the lizard team listed or the brumos team, did they fail, or what?
we only got about 14 hours total coverage (first five and last 9) missed the rest in between (TSN)

so i was cheering for the some of the underdogs, Hurley i remember from the transam series many moons ago , and the lizard team just seem like nice pick as an underdog. 6cyl leads the pack out the gate, like a lot of racing events we miss alot by not getting the whole running coverage.

if the gt3 took the podium finish in the gt class, thats great, from the info i was seeing it looked like a bmw took the gt class?

I think Buckler had the odds stacked in his favor LOL.

Funny you mention that JGM, when I was talking to one of the mazda guys he pointed at the list of drivers on the 70 car and said "...that's our best chance right there, all the porsche teams have one or two great drivers and one rich guy who don't know **************** and were counting on that..."

We were walking the garages in the late evening and there were way too many cars being worked on for it being so early in the race.

If anyone is interested you can follow the link to my photos from this past weekend:

The Continental Tire race on Friday was fun, there were three boxsters entered among a very wide variety of other makes and models!

Well said about the Lizards owner. He can't handle the pace in GT class let alone a DP. Even if they didn't have any bad luck I still beleive they didn't have a chance with the owner being part of the rotation.

Too bad as the first couple of hours clearly shows they had the fastest car out there.

A good race. Porsche went 1&2 in GT class while Ganassi (BMW/Riley) went 1&2 in DP. Ganassi is tough to beat in any series but Juan Pablo Montoya almost ditched the 02 car by overdriving and knocking the nose off the car three (3) times... sheesh! Good comeback by the rest of the team. Our local driver in the Royal Purple Boxster was forced to withdraw early from the Conti. 200. I hope to see them next Saturday to get the details.
