Looking for some black wheels

Yeah, take whatever design wheel that you like and have it refinished in black......

How much would this cost?

well......... it depends on the wheel, composition, design, if it's 1 pc/3pc, and if you want solid black, matte black, gloss black, w/ or w/o polished lip, etc., etc., etc.

As suggested, pick a wheel you like and first see if it comes in black. If not, then contact some good body shops and or powder coating places to find out pricing... (some dealers will have good recommendations for outsourcing... others may not)

What are your goals ? If its simply to have a set of blacks wheels, then find a design that you like and have them painted or powder coated . If your are looking to gain performance by reducing unsprung weight and rotational mass, thats another topic .

Around $1000-1500. And size isn't too important

I'm not sure what you will find in that price range that's going to be an improvement over your oem wheels. You will have to do some searching online to see what's available. The only worthwhile suggestion that I can make, is one brand that I am familiar with that makes a very nice 18 inch one piece forged wheel for around 2k - which is extremely reasonably for a wheel of that quality and design .

If your OEM wheels are not to banged up you could probably get them professionally refinished for around $500/set.

These are the original rims, would I be able to get them painted? how much would I be able to just sell them for?

yes, you could easily get those painted or even DIY. FYI, [I think] djlomas on this board used to have the same wheels and painted his himself IIRC.

As for how much you could sell them for? I wouldn't expect much more than $100-150/wheel. Check ebay to start. Even then, it may take a while. I'm sure you'll get some offers for 1 here or there as people need to replaced a damaged one they have... Plus, it depends on a number of things... timing is obviously one, as there might be more demand in fall just before winter for someone wanting OEM wheels for winter tires. Those wheels (Sport Classics), although they look nice, are not as high demanded design like Carrera Light Weights, etc.

Food for thought... contact a place that sells refurbished wheels and see how much they might give you on trade for yours if you buy a new set from them. I think wheelenhancement.com might do this...
