996 Gt3 Arb?
 

Hi - Does anyone have a part number for the above?
Also, how does it compare in thickness to a (ROW) MO30 unit?

you'd also need shorter / adjustable front drop links to fit it to the boxster; the GT3 bar actually mounts to a different location on the GT3 than on the 996/986.

as for thickness? it's not subtle. compared to the M030 it's probably 60% thicker.....

i have on on my car; it's huge. it's VERY stiff.

ARB is an acronym I haven't seen before

Excellent thank you. How does having such a stiff ARB effect understeer?

it has suprisingly less affect on understeer than i thought it would. when i first got the car, understeer was a major problem for me at the track. i added the M030 sways & that helped a lot. later, with some apprehension, i upgraded to the GT3 bar to gain some stability & roll control on track (i was learning to feed the car inputs much faster than the car could react).

i added the GT3 bar with an H&R rear sway. i always leave the GT3 bar full soft. the H&R has three settings. at full soft, it's MILD understeer. at full stiff, it's MILD oversteer. at the mid setting (one side soft, one side stiff), it's dead neutral. i use this middle setting at the track and full soft on the street.

all that having been said, the street ride is a lot stiffer with these bars.

Insite; I also have (both) of the H&R bars but the rear has two settings, is the third setting you are talking about, is achieved by using one side on hard and the other side on soft..?

This doesn't put more pressure on one of the arms (preload), compared with the other side? However, I don't have the adjustable links...

you're right that there are only two holes on each side. the entire sway bar can rotate, though (it's not 'fixed' to the vehicle radially). therefore, the anti-sway force = the total torsion in the bar, not just the torsion at one side. in settings this close, there will really not be any pre-load in the bar to worry about with fixed drop links.

if you're REALLY worried about it, you can get adjustable links, but i can tell you that w/ the adjustable links, the difference from one side to the other in length is minimal (about 1-2mm). the pre-load is negligeble.
