Seat Belt Angst

Today I went to put on my seat belt and the retractor suddenly froze up with the belt half-way out. Anybody know an easy DIY fix? (2000 base Boxster) Thanks.

I have no easy fix for you. However, they are easy to remove. I would take it out of the car and take a close look at it. They are very sensitive to angle so once out make sure you position it in the same position it goes in you car. If it is bad you can buy a new one on eBay or www.car-parts.com for $50 to $70 all day long.

Good luck.

I visited the car in its storage unit the other day, started it up and the seat belt was working fine. Go figure...
