Auto dimming rear view mirror problem
 

I recently bought a 2001 Boxster and have now discovered that the rear view mirror does not dim. I noticed that there is a small drop of what appears to be melted plastic on the bottom of the mirror and some small blistering in the mirror itself. I'm a little frustrated since the car only has 17,000 miles on it. Has anyone had similiar problems?
