DIY Strut Assembly Replacement - Difficulty??

I am thinking about replacing the standard suspension with the M030 as a winter project. I am wondering how difficult the strut assembly replacement is.

Last winter I replaced the front struts on my 1985 944 and it wasn't too bad. I have the Bentley manual also.

Does anyone have first hand experience/suggestions with this?

I installed RoW M030 suspension by myself 1.5 years ago. I found it to be a very easy project. You will need a couple of special tools -- spring compressor & ball joint removal tool -- to complete the job. I did the whole thing in one day, including the new sway bars, despite going very slow to be sure I didn't screw anything up.

Thanks lucky!

I have a spring compressor, but it is one where I have to tighten the bolts with a ratchet. The added about 2 hours to the time for my 944.

What kind of spring compressor and ball joint tool did you use?

I used threaded spring compressors like the ones you have, but since I have air tools I was able to compress each spring in a minute or even a bit less.

As far as ball joint tool goes, you need one that looks like this one at Amazon: Ball Joint Separator
