Collision Repair in OC, CA
 

Hi all,

My 02 Boxster was just rear ended and there is rear suspension damage. I need a collision repair shop, in Orange County, CA, with frame checking capability to determine if the geometry is still true.

Also, any information on determining diminished valve and getting compensated for it would be greatly appreciated.

I've used a shop in Santa Ana for major work (including significant frame damage)on my Boxster and recently had my Lexus repaired. He threw in taking all the other digs out and wound up painting the whole car for a few extra $.

My only complaint it he left a couple running lights disconnected...small price to pay in my book. It's called Adonis (or something very close ) in Santa ana on Westminster and Collins (??). They specialize in complete frame up restorations.

Ask for Michael and tell him Peter with the Porsche and Lexus sent you.


I don't think you will get anything for diminished value because if it's done right no one will ever know. Different story if totaled.

A friend of mine was successful in claiming diminished value when his museum quality TR-6 was rear ended. Farmers originally turned it down. He ended up getting a professional appraisal type evaluation on the car and then filed suit in small claims court against the person who hit his. Farmers had a duty to defend and ended up paying the diminished value and the cost of the effort.

I work in a different area of the insurance world. I am guessing that Farmers may have viewed the settlement as more of a nuisance offer than any admission that they owed it. Sometimes it's easier and far more economical to settle rather than defend.

I guess the lesson there is to be the squeeky wheel and see what they offer. Good luck!
