Need some help on a 2001 S

The wife took the car out for a few errands and came home and parked it .. She said there was no guage movement or lights on the instrument panel... . When I went to take a look, sure enough she was right . So i checked the fuses and they were fine.. when I turned the key to check again they are all working now... what could this be?.. the car seems to be running fine.. thanks for any help

your instrument panel may have just come loose somehow. check the connections behind the actual panel. search replacing intrument panel. very easy.

I'd put money on your ignition switch. Try wiggling the key and pushing it in and pulling out on it and see if you can duplicate the problem.

When this cheap little plastic part falls apart inside, it makes your boxster downright demon possessed. Wipers starting without warning. AC panel blinking.

The stealership will only replace the whole key mechanism for $$$ but you only need a $18 plastic part that can be purchased from any Audi parts counter if indeed this is the culprit.

If you check the Bentley book you will see the switch actually comes apart, I took mine apart and cleaned it and it made a world of difference.
