Are the bumper size different ?

I just ordered the 3M protection film for my 2001 Boxster, but while installing the film, I discovered that the bumper film doesn't fit...

The cutout for the side markers are longer than on my car, the overall bumper film shorter (about 4-6" shorter than needed for my car).

But the bonnet, fenders all fit fine... the mirrors also feel wrong, but I managed to fit them.

I'm trying to figure out whether they sent me the wrong kit or it's just my poor installation skills...

Are the 2003-2004 boxster side markers the same as the 2001 ? I know the bumpers are slightly different. Or are the US boxster front bumpers different from the ROWs ? Or could it be a 987 kit ??

Anyone ?

Precut films are never a perfect fit. That's why they have to be custom cut from a large sheet.

Yes I agree, but this one was really impossible to fit... Plus the give away was the side marker cutout... it was clearly 1-2 inches too big.
