new life for the old seat...

Any other Forza 3 drivers out there? It sure helps pass the long winter! |

 LOL
Very slick! How about GT5? |

 What's a winter ??? :p
Sorry, that was a bit below the belt - living in a sub-tropical enviroment where lots of my neighbours have never even SEEN snow.... |

GT5 looks amazing! Have you seen the screenies? Maybe Santa will bring me a PS3 and a G27. And a 3D TV.... (yes, GT5 is supposed to be 3D-compatible!)
It's getting to the point where a trip to Raby's place will set you back less than a good gaming set-up! |

I hope you'll plug the wirring for the seat ajustement :)

I did. There's a 5 amp 12 volt transformer under the seat to power the recline function. Also installed the slider. The wheel can be moved up-down and back-forth, and there are three adjustments for the angle of the pedal plate. The wire between the wheel and pedals runs through the framework.

 Your awesome ;) |

Mark, let me guess. Engineer by trade?

Very cool. Did you make this rig, or bought it somewhere ? I am interested in something similar.
	Thanks Leo |

Maybe in a past life, Randall. More of a jack-of-all-trades, master-of-none. I just like designing and building things, and I have a fairly well-equiped workshop.
Designed and built it myself, Leo. I had looked around at what was commercially available and found it overpriced and inadequate. I started out with a prototype made from wood and used that to tweak the sizing, and then made the adjustable model from aluminum. |

 Nice ride!

That is AWESOME - very creative!!

Thanks Leo. I don't have a spec - my designs are usually just rough sketches, measurements, and calculations on a few sheets of graph paper, decipherable only by me.
I could take some close-up pics, add some notes, and send them to you with a materials list if that would help. The total project, not including the seat, will run you about $150 - $200. |

Mark, that would be great. Perhaps this will be my next project.
