Change spark plugs with car on ramps?
Is it possible to change the spark plugs with the car on ramps instead of removing the rear wheels?
When I changed a coil pack a few months ago, I put the car on a jack stand and removed the wheel and fender liner for access. I saw a post on Rennlist where one of the posters said that he had done the job on Rhino ramps.
When I was working on my car, I just assumed I needed to remove the wheel. I guess I could just roll the car up on the ramps and see how tight it is.
Personally, I would rather use ramps if the access won't be too tight. I'd like to hear from folks who have personally used ramps and find out if there are any problems or tips to be aware of.

I would venture to say that it is possible to change plugs with the tires on... maybe on a lift. But doing it on the floor with a set a ramps would be a pretty tight fit. Even with the tires off, the front plugs are a squeze to get at.

It is so much easier with the wheel off that I would not do it any other way.
You have much better visibility and you can make sure that you treads on the spark plug are going in correctly.
A easy job can turn into a disaster by skipping a step IMO.
I jacked up one side with the wheel removed and put a jack stand under there as well.
Lot more room to work and see!

Jack stands would be SO much easier.
BTW, I would take your car back to Carmax and ask them to remove the sticker. The one time I bought a car from a dealer, that was part of the bargain. Remove the sticker or I won't buy.

I peeled it off in 30 seconds after I took the shot!
At that point it was mine and they were not touching it anymore by my request.
They did a nice job overall with price and service.

I thought all Boxster S cars came with silver dials & twin outlet exhausts - they certainly do here in Australia.......
Or has somebody added an S to the Boxster logo to the rear lid?

Good observation.
The anniversary S ed does not have white dials, red calipers and the twin outlets are over/under not side by side. There are a bunch of other difference that are listed below.
What kind of poser would add an S to the logo
