DUI drivers kill about 18,000 people a year. I am glad you weren't one.

I would agree; they'll total your Boxster. Start now gathering numbers and supporting documents justifying how much you want for your car. Recent sales and work you've done on your car. Have a number (a realistic one) in mind.

Good luck and keep us posted.

If you buy it back you'll spend weeks (months?) fixing it and it will never be the same. I'd just take the cash and buy another one.

You should go to his house and nail his dog to his front door.

Thanks for all the comments guys! Yeah it looks like I'll be taking the cash and upgrading. I'm looking a nice black S model with a few upgrades so it looks like it's all been for the better.

Not only was the guy drunk, but he stuffed a bag of marijuana in his mouth as he stumbled over to see if we were ok. My friend who was in the car with me had to hold me back from beating the guy's ass. Thankfully the cops showed up and we were put in an ambulance or he would've had hell to pay...

Not because he destroyed the car - because he was driving drunk and stoned.

There are countries that would consider me a bleeding heart liberal (trust me - I'm not) for letting him off that easy. Get caught drunk-driving in the Middle East and see what happens to you.

Why punish the innocent dog? I think you meant to say 'nail his balls to his front door'

You were fortunate...the Box paid the price, but you survived.

I ALWAYS tell my kids there are two types of drivers out there...idiots and morons; be on constant watch for both...even more so in the high risk hours.
