CR220 continues with key off?

....for 5 seconds or so.

I assume this is normal - I've just haven't had any other car that does this. After a pretty thorough look at the owners manual and the CR220 manual, I don't see anything about it. Is the delay adjustable or do you just have to turn off the radio when you stop to avoid this?

Yeah, it's normal. Sucks when I pull up to work, pull the key and open the door too quick...I feel like the guy in the VW commercial where his old boss turns on the radio to check for scores and he has death metal cranked on ten. :D

Yeah manually turning it off is the only way I know of to get it to go off faster than 5 seconds.

One cool thing abouit it is after you take the key out, within i think about 30 seconds or so, if you hit the "on" button, it will stay on without the key for an hour.

This comes in handy for a lot of things... say you are going to chill in your car for an hour and sober up - if the key is in the ignition, that counts as DUI, if the key isn't in the ignition, then you are just drunk.

That was my pet peeve in my car. I used to always manually turn the radio off before leaving the car. In my new S500 the radio and NAV go off about 2 seconds after the key is pulled out.
