If you have $40k

in your pocket why the heck are you worried about a warranty? You could blow the engine the day after the warranty runs out and replace it with a more powerful and more reliable one and still have $10-15k in your pocket.

Or you could ship it to Jake tomorrow and he'd do the 6 or 8 most important things to increase its long term reliability prospects and you'd still have $30k left in your pocket.

And you'd not be driving a new car whose new features may hide defects we'll only know about in 5 years. Nor paying insurance on it. Or facing its initial-owner depreciation.

It is totally your choice.
