Ebay is your friend! I have some more pics of the wheels and seats in the 'Show and tell" section.

Sweet! Tell us a bit more please!

the seats were an unxexpected find on Ebay. $1700 for the pair, best price I ever heard of was $2500 for the set. I'll be adding a sub mount uderneath for a six point harness attaching to the rollbar. Seats are great for a bad back.
As one Autocrosser remarked "They hold you in like a mofo" :D

Those seats are money. I want some!

P.S. You can't beat those wheels either. They are so easy to clean and they show off the beautiful S brakes nicely.

Very nice. You must be lucky to get it in the same color as your interior :)

Are these made of carbon? Pity it cost a bomb to ship them to where I live...

Nice seats. I've always loved those seat...too bad the US GT3 never had the option to have them(trust me I know, I had one on order last year but my allocation got taken from me months before it was to arrive and even after I put a 10K deposit on it....bastards.... )
Anywho....Where they hard to put in? Are the seats a direct bolt on?
I am interested in putting a set in my 986.

Perfectlap 05-09-2005 07:56 AM

as direct as any Racing seat could ever be.

Installation and removal can be done by one person with two tools (Torx Ratchet and one spanner).

these are not the Carbon ones. Those are $5,000 (each I think) and are only 30 pounds lighter.
p.s. they have the Porsche logo emobossed on the head rest.

I thought yours should have the Porsche logos embossed on the headrest as well? The ones sold by Mid America certainly does as advertised in their catalogs....

For $5k, I rather get the Recaro SPG carbon kevlar for about $1.5k per seat! I'll live without the Porsche logo for the delta!

oops yes I meant to write that my non-carbon GT3 seats have the headrest logo.

here's a nice pic with the harness belts. I'll have to look this over before i put mine in. Schroth makes them for Porsche, a perfect fit with no mods needed.

Here's RUF's write up about their Boxster

http://www.rufautocentre.com/usedcar.../Car4_Side.jpg
To create the 3400S Alois Ruf starts with the bare Boxster S chassis and by combining a RUF tuned 3.4 L 996 engine with RUF intake and custom exhaust system and reprogrammed ECU, RUF tuned suspension and other subtle improvements he creates the complete Ruf Driving Experience in a hand-built mid-engine roadster. The power, the speed, the sound, the feel, the balance.... 0-60 in 5.1 sec, 173 mph, the result is no longer a Boxster S...it is truly a "RUF 911 mid-engine Roadster"...
