Best Handling Car in America*

Very interesting article in Car and Driver magazine regarding the Boxster Spyder. Not only is it the best handling car in America under 100k but also the best handling car in the current Porsche Lineup. Hmmmmm, very interesting....

Good article. It seems that everyone but Porsche recognizes the Boxster/Cayman platform for what it is: a better handling package than the dated (but still sexy) 911 platform. There are several 911s that would have made the price cut, but that they chose the Box is telling indeed...

What the Spyder has going for it on top of the others, is the not insignificant weight loss of ~175 lbs (less in the US) and the little bit of extra power (+10hp).

Plus, those speedster humps are just hot. But not a fan of the bikini top, which, when installed, looks almost aftermarket... a little more engineering on that part would have been nice.

That said, I just saw one in black today on the showroom floor at Sunset... Daddy like. Not enough to trade mine on, but still...

Cheers,
Tad
