Cost of an oil change in NY/NJ

did the Boxster's 2nd oil change after the speedo triped 15K this weekend.
As part of my extended warranty all maintenance must be done by an ASE certified mechanic dude. Oil change and brake flush was on the menu since I don't think the brakes have ever been flushed.
They wanted the BOxster all day for the 15K servicing and the charge was $600 not including the brake flush which was another $200

Doing the math in my head I instinctively answered "well can you do the oil, brake flush and just change the pollen and air filters?"

to which the young man at the desk replied,"well yeah that's the 15K service"
(his answer oil,filter,air/pollen filters, blowing leaves out of the radiator, topping off the fluids, checking belts annd hoses). THis takes all day??? My old mechanic on my Miata would do this in 1.5 hours (and flushing the brake fluid).

All day I didn't have unfortunately, actually I didn't even have an hour to spare this morining, So I told him to do just the oil and brake flush. I figured I would try a less expensive ASE shop to do a simple swap of pollen and air filters. The car had a top to bottom inspection($90) two months ago when I brought in for a wheel alignment($150). I'm thinking they probably checked all the hoses then I'll have to look over the checklist they are faxing me, well they reported ZERO issues and the alignment was only slightly off.

Oil Change $100
oil 10 quarts $70
recycling oil fee $10
oil filter $25
crush ring thing $1
Brake Flush $150
brake fluid $30

Total with Tax: $407

Anyhoo, I lucked into this appointment. All other Porsche dealers and Porsche specialists were booked for the next two-three weeks! Apparently a Mid Ohio track event is keeping lots of folk here in NY/NJ plenty busy. Jiff Screw was not an option.

P.S.
Sat in the 987 finally. All I can say about the interior: different but not better. I wish they had gone more GT2/GT3 instead of more Cayenne on the interior.
Hopefully they won't do this on the Cayman.
