The alarm is not supposed to beep. It only beeps when something is left open (e.g. the center console, rear trunk, etc).

The lights should flash. Don't know why yours isn't doing it.

There is another mode for the alarm. When you press to lock it, press it a second time quickly and you will get a beep. This tells you that the internal motion sensor is turned off. Good for when you put up a sunscreen on the windshield. I had quite a few false alarms go off from the slight movement the sunscreen and it's elastic band makes due to the screen not sitting "tight".

I wished the alarm did make a little beep as it is sometimes hard to hear the door lock solenoids (and the remote is a POS).
