Key Fob Repairs

Mine was not communicating with the remote transceiver in the car. Found a place in Scotland online. www.pixelsfixed.co.uk. Chap called Boyd Beattie. Extremely helpful. Suggested it may be the micro switches or circuit board inside the fob. I sent my key/fob to him through the post. He replaced all three microswitches and sent back recorded delivery for 38 quid (8 of which was for secure / guaranteed delivery postage). Had my key back within 3 days of sending it. Fixed my problem. I have the same issue with 2 of of the switches on my 2nd fob, so will be sending that one up too.

Are there likely other issues at work given how temperamental it is? Is there a central unit that controls the locking that may be faulty or have dry joints?
Resolution for me was to get 2 new fobs coded at Porsche. All now working beautifully.

Finally attempted to solder new switches on my fob today. Not as easy as it looks on YouTube but I managed to get it done. I used a thin strip of masking tape to hold the buttons in place. Instead of using thin wire solder, I just melted a small blob of solder on a piece of cardboard then just grabbed small bits of it and dropped it in place. Not perfect but it works and I now have a perfectly working fob for the first time in 10 years!
