favorite roads in SE Pennsylvania?

I was looking for some scenic winding roads for a vacation-day drive tomorrow, in the tri-state area. I used to ride Rt.100 with my street bike, any other suggestions?
Thanks,
Steve

Here ya go :)

This starts near a neighborhood I live near in West Chester PA. Basically, you'll want to get on east boot road right off Paoli Pike. I suggest starting at the Pepper Mill restaurant near the corner of Paoli Pike and Boot Road; get a cheesesteak there. The service is so so, but the food is damn good for the price.

Then hop on east boot road and follow my path through incredible twisty roads in gorgeous horse country + beautiful homes. I drive these everyday and aside from bikers, the roads themselves are very clear. Be careful of taking blind curves fast with the boxster....just be aware.

You'll loop around onto Providence Road which is a simple back-road that won't wind as much, but will lead you into Ridley Creek State Park....awesome roads, great greenery, hiking/biking trails, etc.

Hop on any of these roads between 9:45am-3:00pm, and you'll find miles and miles of goodness with almost no traffic. Even during rush hour, they are mostly absent.

Thanks Joe, but I can't seem to find anything with the link you have?

JoeFromPA 09-01-2010 07:45 AM

Try this link

It should be a pre-mapped-out google route for you.

If that doesn't work, I'll write it out for you :)

That worked, thanks!

Take Rt. 32 from Yardley (nr intersection of Rt 95) up along the Delaware River to Riegelsville, cross into NJ, and then down Rt. 29 to Titusville, just north of Trenton. Fun roads, particularly on the PA side, and quite scenic. A great afternoon drive.

Another good idea, I remember taking 32 (I think) years ago as a scenic route to the Pocono's

Good routes. I go through Reigelsville to visit my Dad near Quakertown, PA.

Advice. Try to stay on the PA side of the Delaware. The local cops in the western NJ towns have radar guns pointed at you while they drive around. I've been busted twice on Rt. 627 by the Pohatcong PD, for exceeding 35 mph [once going 40 mph]. Also happened near Lambertville, NJ.

We drive Rte 32 up the river to 611 all the way up to 80 east into NJ and then pick up 519S and you can run it back down towards New Hope and farther...Our PCA club does this run every year in one form or another.

Thanks all. It looks a bit hot for top-down driving, I'll just have to blast some AC at my feet!

Cops do seem to love my Boxster, I got my first ticket in 6 years, and I haven't had it a year yet.

I did note the comment about blind corners, that issue came to my attention earlier this year with a rabbit, but it could just as well have been a kid on a bicycle. Vehicular manslaughter could really ruin my year, and more.
